Description
The balcony of a decaying house in Ruse, Bulgaria. They call the city of Ruse / Rousse "the little Vienna" because of its 19th- and 20th-century Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture. There's also direct connection to Vienna - Danube river. Ruse is the biggest Bulgarian port on the Danube. Ruse was a very cosmopolitan megalopolis in the past, even bigger than the capital city of Bulgaria. Many Austrians and Italians lived out there. Ruse is the birthplace of the Nobel laureate in Literature Elias Canetti and the writer Michael Arlen. Now it is still the 5th largest city in the country.
